Metrotile Installation

Welcome to the Metrotile Lightweight Roofing System.

Metrotile produce and distribute Lightweight stone-coated steel tiles, produced to the highest standards and specified for a wide range of applications.

From humble beginnings where the material was used to answer specific criteria such as the requirement for a material that could be used at a very low pitch, or was very low in weight, Metrotile Lightweight Roofing systems have grown to provide numerous benefits to any project, whatever the requirement.

Specifying Metrotile Lightweight Roofing Systems might provide more benefits than you think.

IDEAL FOR LOG CABINS

As our products have high quality steel at their heart, they are very strong, but very light.
The advantages of these inherent qualities might be obvious, but there are significant advantages to be gained as a result of not only the material, but how it is produced and applied.

Cost is of course a huge, and for many the biggest factor in specifying building materials, and lightweight steel roofing is an excellent choice on this basis alone. However, we believe it is vital to look at an area that is sometimes overlooked, or worse, confused with cost; value.

Specifying Metrotile lightweight roofing provides value at every stage of the build process, from manufacturing, to efficient design and through to installation.

Metrotile Bond - A traditional pantile profile

Our most popular range, Metrotile Bond features a traditional pantile profile.
The range is available in a choice of colours to suit particular design and planning requirements, as well as two thicknesses, 450 and 900.  Metrotile Bond 450 is suitable for the vast majority of standard applications, whereas Metrotile Bond 900 offers added security and safety - for applications that may require additional resistance to foot traffic or protection from vandalism.
Each tile is the equivalent of eight conventional roof tiles and may be fixed from vertical right down to a 10° pitch; tiles are overlapped and then fixed, providing excellent strength and durability.

Metrotile Slate

With a strikingly irregular, riven surface, Metrotile Slate perfectly recreates the colour and individual texture of a traditional slate roof.
The deeply lined profile gives excellent shadow definition, resulting in a roof with outstanding aesthetics - at a fraction of the cost of natural slate.  Available in 450 and 900 options, Metrotile Slate provides a wide range of design, performance and installation benefits, with a profile which blends naturally in areas where the use of traditional slate is appropriate.

Breaking the Bond
We recommend that when laying a roof using Metrotile Slate, that the profiles are layed in a non-uniform pattern, to create an irregular pattern of the texture lines on the tile.
